So this year is an amazing year for wildflowers in the desert. The drive into work every morning is so beautiful and different. Such splashes of color all along the roads - blues and yellows and pinks. :) So we went on 2 picture expeditions, including the two below. Have I mentioned that I love my digital camera?

Here's a Mexican Gold Poppy at Picacho Peak that I took:

The rest of my pictures are here:
Picacho Peak Wildflowers

and here:
Desert Museum Wildflowers
(these have Fairy Duster Pictures!)

Good lord. I clicked on the "rest of pictures" links, then had to wait five minutes while they all popped up. Over cable modem! And they were popping up pretty damn quickly! It's a good thing you don't use film, you'd be broke.

Very colorful, though! The hummingbird-butt pictures are pretty funny. So is the gas line sign. Did I tell you about the Globe Mallow Predator Defense System? Oh, but you forgot to take Picacho peak itself!

My favorites are the Desert Museum pictures with more than one kind of flower.

I so need a digital camera. And I still don't want one.

Yeah, I'm hoping that the forever opening time will finally drive my parents to get internet faster than dial-up.

I also couldn't do many of these pictures with my old film camera (the focus was broken, so only landscape pictures came out). But I did used to go through film like it was going out of style. :) Though my film developing was the Wal-Mart special...

There's a peak at Picacho Peak? I only saw the flowers! ;)

And yes, I do like the multi-flower pictures too. I'd really love to go after the displays along the road... if I wouldn't get killed doing so.
