Olympic Happiness
Feb. 20th, 2006 02:52 pmJust wanted to post that other than the fact that my stomach is being annoying, I do love being sick this time of year and staying home all day to watch Olympics (with a fuzzy kitty on my lap). I'm such an Olympics junkie - I watch it all and love it all.
Right now, it's the Canada-Sweden gold medal match in Women's Hockey.
My favorite moments so far:
-the fact that they are showing curling live!!! I fell in love with this during the Nagano games, watching it while doing homework on the Canadian channel. :) The US men are really great to watch. :) Such neat, tricky shots.
- the Chinese figure skating pair coming back from a horrible fall to win silver - I thought they did deserve it - the rest of their program was *flawless*
ooh, Canada's up 2-0. They really are just lovely to watch!
- the Italian men winning the cross country relay race by 30 seconds (though the anchor took a few seconds to grab an Italian flag and then walk across the finish line). I love it when the home country has such a triumphant moment like that.
- Evan's lovely long program in the men's figure skating
- the American ice dancers last night - so good! I hope their long program does well too. Looking forward to watching it tonight.
- the exuberance of the snowboarders! And the new snowboard cross!! Such fun to watch. :)
Oh, and the fact we have Tivo this year and I can actually tape all I want to. whee!
