My (finally!) finished shawl
Aug. 23rd, 2005 01:37 pmI'd been working on this for a few years - mostly in bursts. I'd finally put it in the back of the closet when I ran out of yarn (and I thought it might not be what I wanted). I pulled it out a few weeks ago and tried it on with my nice dress. Turns out it actually looked pretty neat! Of course, it's made out of really thick yarn (Lion Brand Chenille Thick and Quick), so I can only wear it for about a month in Dec. or Jan., but it will be nice for that.
Here's a terrible picture of me wearing the shawl (can you tell I had a meeting with my thesis committee that day?):

The pennanular broach I'm wearing is the one P. bought in Ireland (from this great silversmith!)for the sash that goes with his dress shirt. Alas, the broach isn't exactly big enough for that, but it works great with this shawl!
