The new Harry Potter
Jul. 18th, 2005 09:47 amSo I'm home from my trip. One of the neat things I got to do was buy the newest Harry Potter in London (well, the London Gatwick airport...). :) Which means I had my looong flight all taken care of and finished the book with a couple hours to spare (as well as having watched Ice Princess - I want to comment on that later). The flight attendant was remarking on my speed reading, but, really, it is possible to read Harry Potter slowly?
I quite liked it, though did need the tissues I'd stashed in my pocket!
I didn't like the 7 hours stuck in the Houston airport yesterday. Stupid thunderstorm - stupid Continental. argh.
I did get a few more rounds made on my doily though...
Soon, I'll have to get the 1 GB of pictures uploaded to my computer - yep, I maxed out my camera's card. I even had to spend an evening deleting pictures so I could take some on the last day.
But it was a beautiful trip!
Some of you had asked whether I was in London for the bombings - no, I was in the Netherlands - stuck in the bubble of a conference and only saw the news on someone else's laptop. :( I did notice airport security becoming a lot more vigilant afterwards (not that they weren't before). And I decided not to spend July 9 in London between my flights and just hung out at the Gatwick airport for 10 hours.
