I'm back from the wedding. The wedding was lovely and it was wonderful to see everyone again! :) I should get some pictures up, but I didn't take all that many, so I'm relying on all you out there! I did get a nice rainbow picture on the drive back. :)
Oh, and for all of you who would like to come to Astronomy Camp, the website is Astronomy Camp. Dates for this fall are October 7-9. I won't be sure I'm working it until August when the telescope schedules come out (I'm often scheduled for a different telescope that weekend for my research.)
It was actually a nice drive, though I should have stopped and gotten tea or something and it would have been a bit nicer. The weather was rather cruddy - lots of rain and rather cold, but I luckily wore pants and brought my raincoat.
I'm still sad about missing Neil Armstrong, but at least I didn't spend $1300 to change my flight!
I also realized how much I miss the small town-ness of State College - having all the cool shops and restaurants in one area and a nice campus with lots of trees and lovely mountains around. Tucson is such a spread out place, though it does have nice weather. No uphill in ice and snow when your already 5 min. late for class.
And I even went out to a bar while I was there, belatedly capturing some of that "undergrad experience" I missed out on by spending all my time studying. It was fun for an evening, but I'm glad I spent the time playing cards and watching movies and going to plays and such.
Now it's back to the grind of preparing for an observing run for next week. ugh.
I also just realized that I won't be spending a weekend at home for 3 weeks. (the wedding last weekend, Los Alamos this weekend, and then my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary in Tennessee the weekend after) I'm going to be sick of airplanes even before I go to Europe in July!
