harvestarI finally got a highlights webpage made for my Europe trip.

Europe Highlights
The "All Pictures" pages do have lots of pictures, if you have a slow connection.
We started in Dublin, saw the Book of Kells, National Museum (with the Tara broach, Armaugh Chalice, and other really cool stuff!), and the Chester Beatty Library (which has the oldest complete copy of the Gospels and Paul's Letters).
Then we took the train to Galway, rented a car there, and drove down to the Burren area (near Doolin - a big place for traditional Irish music). We went to the Aran Islands (to Inishmore) and saw pretty much just that area. It was lovely since we didn't have a schedule and could just go where we liked. :) Of course, since we didn't go all that many places, we've got to go back and see Killeny National Park, the Giant's Causeway, Tara, and Connemara.
Some of my personal highlights from Ireland:
For those of you who have seen the Princess Bride - I've been to the Cliffs of Insanity!
The amazing wildflowers of the Burren:
And most amazing of all was hearing traditional music in an Irish pub:
We went away from the tourist towns and so this was a very great experience. There were many local people in the bar shouting at each other and these musicians just showed up at the bar and played what they knew, discussing songs right before playing them. The flute player was American so it was great to see that dynamic too, as well as the different ages coming together!
And of course, we saw castles, old churches, and megalithic ruins - the Burren is a great place for all of this since it was left relatively undisturbed for large parts of Irish history.
